FAQ's
Expect to feel challenged. The heat is unfamiliar, some postures will feel awkward, and you may feel the urge to leave the room — that's completely normal. Your only job in the first class is to stay in the room, keep breathing, and do your best. Even if you need to sit or lie down at any point, that counts as practice. Most students feel a significant shift after their third or fourth class as their body begins to adapt.
At least 10–15 minutes early. This gives you time to check in, set up your mat, and start acclimatising to the heat before class begins. For your very first class, arriving 15–20 minutes early is ideal so a teacher can briefly orient you.
We're at Unit 7, 33–37 College Street, Gladesville NSW 2111. Street parking is available in the surrounding area. We're accessible by bus from Gladesville and surrounding suburbs. Contact us on 0449 511 010 if you need directions.
The 50 Class Pass includes a share option, making it a great choice for two people who want to practice together or split the cost. Other passes are individual. Check with us at the studio if you have a specific situation in mind.
If you were a regular Bikram practitioner before becoming pregnant, you may be able to continue in early pregnancy with your doctor's approval — but this is not a class we recommend starting for the first time during pregnancy. The elevated heart rate and core body temperature require caution. Please consult your doctor and speak with us directly before attending.
This is a fair question — but in practice, the opposite tends to happen. Because your body is constantly changing, each class feels different. Some days a posture you've done a hundred times suddenly unlocks. Some days it doesn't. The consistency of the sequence means you can always measure your progress, and the depth of the practice keeps revealing new layers the longer you go. Most long-term students will tell you the sameness becomes one of the things they love most.
In many cases, yes — but please tell your teacher before class begins. Bikram yoga has helped students manage and recover from a wide range of conditions including back pain, joint issues, and chronic tension. That said, certain postures can be modified or skipped depending on your situation. Clear communication with your teacher means we can support you properly rather than guess. If you have a serious medical condition, check with your GP first.
Bikram yoga is a traditional 26-posture yoga sequence performed in a heated room. Each class follows the exact same series of postures and two breathing exercises in the same order, every time. The consistency is intentional — it allows your body to progressively deepen each posture, track real improvement, and build a practice that compounds over time. Classes run for 90 minutes.
We ask students to remain in the room for the full 90 minutes where possible — staying still in the heat is part of the practice, even if you need to rest. That said, if you feel unwell or need to use the bathroom, you can quietly step out. Just let a teacher know before or after class if you're struggling so they can support you.
We recommend avoiding a heavy meal for at least two hours before class. A light snack one hour prior is fine for most people. Practicing on a full stomach in a hot room is uncomfortable. Hydrating well throughout the day before class is more important than eating beforehand.
Yin Yoga is a slower, floor-based practice where postures are held for extended periods — typically two to five minutes each. It targets the deep connective tissues, joints, and fascia rather than the muscles. Where Bikram builds strength, heat, and stamina, Yin restores, releases tension, and improves joint mobility. Both are included in your membership and complement each other well.
This is common in the first few classes and usually comes down to dehydration, heat adaptation, or blood pressure shifting as you move. If you feel dizzy, come out of the posture, sit or lie down on your mat, and focus on slow breathing. You don't have to keep up with the class — resting in the room still counts as practice. Let your teacher know, and make sure you're hydrating well in the hours before class.
The room is heated to approximately 40°C (104°F) with around 40% humidity. This is a key part of the practice — the heat warms your muscles faster, increases flexibility safely, and promotes a deep detoxifying sweat. It feels intense at first, but most students adapt within the first few classes.

We have flexible options to suit different schedules and commitment levels. The Intro Pack ($50, 14 days unlimited) is the starting point for new students. Beyond that: a 10 Class Pass ($300, valid 3 months), a 1 Month Unlimited ($300), a 6 Month Unlimited ($950), a 12 Month Unlimited ($1,800), a Direct Debit membership ($45/week, minimum 12 weeks), and a 50 Class Pass ($1,050, valid 12 months with the option to share). Drop-in is $35 per class with free mat rental. Private 90-minute sessions are also available at $150.
Two to three times per week is the sweet spot for most students, especially when starting out. This gives your body enough stimulus to adapt and improve without overloading recovery. Consistency over time matters more than intensity in any single week. Students who commit to a regular schedule — even two classes a week — tend to see meaningful changes in flexibility, strength, and mental clarity within the first month.
Yes — and this is one of the most common misconceptions about yoga. You don't need any existing flexibility to start. The 26-posture sequence is specifically designed so that beginners can participate from day one, regardless of your starting point. Flexibility is the result of the practice, not a prerequisite for it.
Absolutely. The structured, repeating sequence is actually ideal for beginners — you learn the same postures every class, so you're always improving rather than starting from scratch. Our teachers provide clear verbal instructions throughout the entire class, so you're never lost. Many of our students came to us with zero yoga experience.
Most students notice something after just a few classes — better sleep, reduced tension, more energy. Physical changes like improved flexibility and muscle tone typically become visible within four to six weeks of consistent practice. Mental benefits — reduced stress, sharper focus, a greater sense of calm — often show up earlier.
A yoga mat, a large towel to place over your mat, a smaller towel to wipe sweat, and a water bottle. If you don't have a mat or towel, both are available for hire in-studio. We also have a fridge stocked with cold water and electrolyte drinks if you need to restock after class.
Yes. We have male and female showers and toilets available for all students. After a 90-minute hot yoga class, you'll want to use them.
Yes, it's genuinely unlimited. For $50, you get 14 days of unlimited classes — Bikram, Yin, as many as you want. It's designed to let you experience the practice fully before committing to a membership. There are no hidden restrictions. It's the best way to find out if this practice is right for you.
Light, breathable, and minimal. Most students wear shorts and a sports bra or fitted top. The room is hot and you will sweat significantly, so avoid loose or heavy fabrics. Fitted activewear works best — anything you'd wear to a gym or beach training session.
